Invisalign is Clearly Different

Invisalign uses 3-D computer graphics technology combined with 100-year-old science of orthodontics to create a treatment that is truly unique. Unlike ordinary braces that use metal wires and brackets to straighten your teeth, Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners designed specifically for your mouth. Each aligner is precisely manufactured to fit your teeth at each stage of your treatment plan. Your aligners can easily be removed for eating and drinking, and are virtually invisible to the naked eye when being utilized.

How Does Invisalign Treatment Work?

Once your doctor at Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics determines that Invisalign is the right treatment for you, we will use a computer system called iTero to take digital impressions of your teeth and gums. With the iTero scan we are able to take a complete digital impression of your mouth to create a highly detailed image of your tooth surfaces and gum tissue. Once this is complete, iTero will develop a 3-D image on the computer screen where you can follow the progress of your teeth throughout your treatment. iTero will be used to create the perfect aligners to begin your Invisalign treatment at our practice.

Each aligner will be worn for approximately two weeks at a time and only taken out to eat, brush, and floss. Each time you replace an aligner, your teeth will begin to move gradually until the final alignment is prescribed and ready for your teeth. Soon enough you'll have the smile you've always dreamed of!

Is Invisalign for Everyone?

While The Invisalign System is a great treatment option for straightening your teeth at a later stage in life, we have found that it is not for everyone. Invisalign is not intended for children and may not be right for every adult. Invisalign Teen is available for teenagers who wish to straighten their teeth without the look or feel of braces, but they must first have an evaluation with their orthodontist to see if they are candidates.
