Meet Our Doctors
Stephen R. Nelson
After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College, Dr. Nelson went on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota, graduating first in his class. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota, completing his specialty training in orthodontics and earning a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Nelson is a valued member of the Cleft Lip and Palate Team at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and several other professional organizations.
As a life-long resident of the Minnetonka area and a graduate of Hopkins High School, Dr. Nelson is committed to serving his community. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside on a hobby farm in Long Lake, and have two grown children. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, fishing, traveling, and spending time at the cabin.
Krestine K. Tiziani
Dr. Tiziani obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison before pursuing her dental and Master of Public Health degrees at Harvard University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She also completed her specialty training in orthodontics and obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Tiziani is a member of the Cleft Lip and Palate team at Children’s Hospital in Minnesota, and she is board certified as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. In addition to her professional affiliations, she is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and several other professional organizations.
Originally from Elk River, Minnesota, she now resides in Shorewood. She and her husband, Mario, have two grown daughters. Dr. Tiziani loves traveling to visit her daughters and to cheer on her husband when he competes in professional golf tournaments. In her free time, Dr Tiziani loves riding horses.
Heather M. Carr
After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Carr graduated with honors with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the same institution. She further pursued her education at the University of Minnesota, completing her specialty training in Orthodontics and obtaining her Master of Science degree.
Currently, Dr. Carr holds memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society and has served as the president of the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists. She is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Originally from Mitchell, South Dakota, Dr. Carr now resides in Eden Prairie with her husband, Robert, and their 2 daughters. She enjoys spending time outdoors, exercise, cooking, and traveling.
Brooke E. Brown
Originally from Chanhassen, Dr. Brown attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she was a Division I student athlete on the women’s basketball team. After college, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa, graduating first in her class. Returning to Minnesota, she then attended the University of Minnesota, earning her Certificate of Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Brown is Board Certified by the American Association of Orthodontists. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the St. Paul District Dental Society (where she served as a council member), the American Association of Orthodontists, the Midwest Society of Orthodontists, and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists. She has participated in the Seattle Study Club and Spear Study Club and is a former clinical adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Brown and her husband, Jerome, now reside in Bloomington. In her spare time, Dr. Brown enjoys working out, outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
